THINGS TO DO ON BRYHER (in no particular order...)

  • Climb the seven hills of Bryher in just over 5 miles, and enjoy amazing views from the 'summits' (nothing more than 150 feet above sea level!)

  • Hire a kayak or a motor or sailing boat from Hut 62 at Bennett Boatyard, www.bennettboatyard.com / www.hut62.co.uk

  • Pick a beach (we are sure you can find one with no one else around) and go beach-combing, snorkelling or simply relax in the sun with a book

  • Buy a shrimp net from Island Fish and see how many you can scoop out of the seaweed at low tide (July, August & September)

  • Pick up supplies from one of the many local produce stands

  • Check out the hammock / informal play area on Heathy Hill

  • Take a guided walk with Katharine Sawyer, focusing on archaeological and historic sites, www.scillywalks.co.uk

  • Take a guided walk with Will Wagstaff, resident ornithologist and naturalist, www.islandwildlifetours.co.uk

  • Play tennis on our 'Multi Use Games Area' - book at Hell Bay hotel reception for £5 per hour. Racquets and balls available to hire

  • Enjoy a spot of golf on a smaller scale (Par 3) at Hell Bay hotel

  • Visit Richard Pearce's studios - one on Great Porth Beach in the Golden Eagle Gig Shed, and one in 'Town', next door to Bryher Shop

  • See a gig close up and learn about the history of gig racing in Tresco & Bryher Rowing Club's gig shed, the Sussex Gig Shed at Bar

  • Enjoy a facial or a massage at Hell Bay hotel, www.hellbay.co.uk/our-hotel/spa

  • Enjoy the playground at Bryher Community Centre, or if it's a wet day (they do happen occasionally!) make use of the book library, table tennis or pool tables.

  • Take a boat trip to another island for the day, or enjoy a circular trip around the Eastern Isles or the Western Rocks for birds and seals with Tresco Boat Services, www.tresco.co.uk/arriving/tresco-boats

As well as Bryher, there is lots to do across all the islands. The best up to date information on all activities and attractions can be found on our main tourism website, www.visitislesofscilly.com .

We also have a wide range of events across the islands throughout the year such as the Walk Scilly walking festivals in April and October, the Scilly Folk Festival in May, low tide events on the sand bar between Bryher and Tresco, the World Pilot Gig Championships, the Otillo Swimrun World Series Qualifier, Taste of Scilly throughout September and much more! Once again, www.visitislesofscilly.com has all the info!
